Most importantly the event is self funded and all tax deductible sponsorship donations go straight to the families and kids helped by the charity.

In Australia, 1 in 6 children are growing up in disadvantaged homes, where even the basics in life are hard to come by.  So supporting their education is the key to breaking the cycle of disadvantage.

Having personally chaired the Challenge for 9 years (raising c.$10m over that time), and serving on The Smith Family board for 6 years, I can offer a guarantee of great stewardship of the money we raise.
